IT'S YOUR POWER Updates
Effective October 1, 2020, the IT’S YOUR POWER mobile app may be suspended unless we receive regulatory approval to continue offering the service. We expect to learn more about the possibility of extending the program on September 23 and will provide updated information at that time. We appreciate you as our customer and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
If IT'S YOUR POWER is suspended, please be aware of the following:

  • The Energy Bridge, Powerley thermostat and other connected devices will lose functionality. (See below "Not ready to replace your thermostat?")
  • You will be able to continue viewing your energy usage data. Simply log into your account at AEPOhio.com/Account or the AEP Ohio mobile app.

Want to replace your thermostat?
Visit the AEP Ohio Marketplace to shop for smart thermostats with instant rebates and exclusive discounts for AEP Ohio customers. Hurry, rebates are only available through September 30.
Purchasing an ENERGY STAR certified smart thermostat elsewhere?
You can get a rebate of up to $50 back. Simply complete the application, providing a copy of your electric bill and receipt at AEPOhio.com/Rebates. Apply no later than September 30.

Not ready to replace your thermostat?
You will be able to manually operate the thermostat (without scheduling features or remote operation) to keep your home operating efficiently. Adjust the mode and temperature settings using the buttons on the face of the thermostat.

Please contact us at YourPowerHelp@AEP.com or 877-427-0626 to request a free return label. Once you receive your return label, simply package the Energy Bridge and drop it in the mail.
FAQs
Q: When will I know for sure if the app is going away?
A: We’re committed to keeping you informed about the future of IT’S YOUR POWER. The program is currently slated to end  September 30, 2020, but it is possible that the program will be extended. We anticipate to know more information September 23. We will continue to update this page, as well as email correspondence, as we learn more.

Q: What is the reason the app may be suspended?
A: AEP Ohio may not have regulatory approval to continue this service beyond September 30, 2020.

Q: If I can no longer use the Energy Bridge, can I return it?
A: Yes, to return the Energy Bridge, please contact IT’S YOUR POWER support at YourPowerHelp@AEP.com or 877-427-0626 to request a free return label. Once you receive your return label, simply package the Energy Bridge and drop it in the mail.

Q: Can I continue to use the Powerley thermostat in my home?
A: Yes, you can continue to use the thermostat, however the scheduling and remote control features will not be available. You will be able to manually adjust your thermostat mode and temperature setting using the buttons on the face of the thermostat.

Q: How can I continue to use the connected devices (smart lights, plugs, etc.) in my home?
A: Many smart home devices can be controlled by their manufacturer applications. There are also universal smart home hubs that may also be used. Please check the device manufacturer's website for compatible applications or products.
